Synopsis from Goodreads...

Two seemingly unrelated stories--one in words, the other in pictures--come together. The illustrated story begins in 1766 with Billy Marvel, the lone survivor of a shipwreck, and charts the adventures of his family of actors over five generations. The prose story opens in 1990 and follows Joseph, who has run away from school to an estranged uncle's puzzling house in London, where he, along with the reader, must piece together many mysteries...

    I saw that book at my local book store and when I looked through it I didn't really see much to read, also the font in the edition I picked up was really small. It had really beautiful art though, I thought it was a gorgeous book.

      Brian Selznick's novels don't typically have many words, because half the story is told through pictures. The art is really gorgeous, and the stories are great too. Thanks for stopping by. :-)
