October 31st is right around the corner, so welcome to our annual Halloween Edition of Music Monday, where we're going to share more of the music we've been listening to this season!

Breana: Since this is the Halloween Edition, I have three songs. The first one is RIP by Qveen Herby. I couldn't end the month without mentioning this one, because it embodies the season.

My second pick is Vampire in the Corner by Magdalena Bay. It's from their latest album, Imaginal Disk.

And my third pick is another song from Qveen Herby. This one is called Frankenstein and it features Tech N9ne.

Andrea: This week I'm listening to Addams Groove by MC Hammer. Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Adri: This week my pick is a song I've been listening to for most of the year, but wanted to save for this edition specifically. And that song is Are You Afraid of the Dark by Scary Black.

So that's it for our annual Halloween Edition. What are you listening to?

Music Monday Halloween Edition: The Dickies, Allie X, Kris Bowers, Calmed by Nature...

Breana: It's that time of year again, the thirtieth of October, so it's time for our annual Halloween Edition of Music Monday! My pick is Magoomba by The Dickies. Youtube finally added the bands music from Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and this song feels fitting with its clown/circus theme.

My second pick is Black Eye by Allie X. It was released earlier this month, and I love the whole vibe of it--including the visuals for the music video.

Adri: My pick today is this Halloween Party Ambience... video by Calmed by Nature. It's quickly become my favorite.

Andrea: This week I'm listening to Don't Leave After Midnight and Grim Grinning Ghosts (Dance Party) by Kris Bowers. I discovered both songs when I watched Haunted Mansion 2023, and I thought these songs were fitting for the season. Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Music Monday Halloween Edition: Lemon Demon, EARTHGANG, Korn, Christopher Lennertz

Breana: It's October 24th. So it's time for the Halloween edition of Music Monday! Today, my co-bloggers and I are talking about the music we've been listening to at the height of the spooky season.

Both of my picks come from an album called Spirit Phone by Lemon Demon. I discovered this band at the beginning of October, while assembling a playlist of songs I intended to use for Music Monday this month. My first pick is Lifetime Achievement Award. There's something kind of chaotic about this song, but I like it.

My second pick is called Touch-Tone Telephone. This is the song that introduced me to this band. Just like Lifetime Achievement Award, its busy (sound wise), but for some reason it works, especially when placed with the rest of the album.

Adri:  This week I'm sharing two of my favorite kinda creepy music videos. The first is Up by Earthgang. I like the museum setting, the costumes, makeup, and the aesthetic of it.
The second is You'll Never Find Me by Korn. First (spoiler) I thought it was interesting with what seems to be a time loop and how he was, apparently turning into plants. Second, I think that's the Invisible House in Joshua Tree, which I saw on Netflix's World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals (season 2 episode 1). I thought that was cool. Anyway, Happy Halloween!

Andrea: Recently, I watched The Curse of Bridge Hollow on Netflix and am currently listening to the soundtrack. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend checking it out. Its a funny Halloween movie, and I also love the music composed by Christopher Lennertz. Have a great week all!

Breana: It's October 25th. So it's time for the Halloween edition of Music Monday! Today, my co-bloggers and I are talking about the music we've been listening to at the height of spooky season.

My picks this week come from Qveen Herby's Halloqveen EP. I initially knew nothing about its release, but it was a welcome surprise since I'm always looking for more Halloween themed music to add to my playlist. The first is Bats in the Belfry. And my second pick is Abracadabra.

Adri: I decided to pick my favorite newer music video that has a darker atmosphere. And that is Spirit_X by Alewya.

The video for my second pick isn't dark. I'm not sure if I can say creepy even. Maybe a little unsettling. I love his voice though. It's I'm Just Fan by Teezo Touchdown.

Andrea: My picks for this week's Music Monday Halloween Party are A Nightmare On My Street by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Haunted House of Rock by Whodini, Haunted Heart by Christina Aguilera, and I'm In Love With A Monster by Fifth Harmony. Enjoy the party. Also, have an amazing and safe Halloween!

Music Monday (94): Halloween Edition

Halloween is literally right around the corner. So it’s finally time for the Halloween Edition of Music Monday. To make it fun and different this year, we’re going to pick costumes (it doesn’t necessarily have to be related to what we’re dressing up as for Halloween, but it can be), and then we’re going to choose a song (or songs) that we think best represents our choices.
Breana: I’m not really dressing up this year, but if I was my costume would be a witch. So obviously, I had to pick I Put A Spell On You by Nina Simone as the song to go with it. I like the Hocus Pocus version, but Simone’s is one of my favorites.

Adri: My costume pick is a Hollywood Glamour tap dancer. I'm talking about one of those long, elaborate, glitzy dresses. Something like what Ginger Rogers would wear while dancing with Fred Astair. So my picks for today are Bambous by Caravan Palace and Swing Fever by Alice Francis.

Andrea: I had to dress up as a pop star to attend a taping of a talk show recently. I chose to dress up as Pepa from Salt-N-Pepa. I've always loved the song Push It by this group and have spent many hours dancing to it. I will talk about how I constructed the costume in a later post.

So those are our picks. What is your Halloween costume? And what song do you think represents it? Let us know in the comments down below.

Music Monday (62) Halloween Edition: Bobby (Boris) Pickett & Flyleaf

Breana: It’s time for the Halloween edition of Music Monday! So my first pick for today is Monster Mash by Bobby (Boris) Pickett. It's a classic. And I had to mention it before October was over.…

My second pick is What’s This performed by Flyleaf for the Nightmare Revisited album. I’ll always love the original soundtrack for the Nightmare Before Christmas, but the Revisited side is pretty cool too. I love Flyleaf’s cover of What's This. Of course, the lyrics are the same, but the way the sound was rearranged to suit Flyleaf’s style is awesome….

Music Monday (3) Halloween Edition

First of all, happy Halloween everyone! October flew by so fast, and it seems like just yesterday that I started Inktober. By the time this post goes up, I'll probably be working on my last Inktober drawing. I have to say that I had more fun with it than I expected, and I look forward to participating next year. And since tomorrow is the start of November (and while I'm not joining myself), I want to say good luck to anyone participating in NaNoWriMo. I'm rooting for you!

With that out of the way, I'm going to jump back to the topic of this post. Today, I'm doing a Halloween edition of Music Monday. When I sat down to write this post, I sort of realized that I have and know about a lot of Christmas music, but my Halloween collection was severely lacking. Anyway, here is my list...
  1. Emperor's New Clothes by Panic! At the Disco--I think we all remember last year when Panic! At the Disco released that spooky good music video for the Emperor's New Clothes. So, of course, that was going to make it on my list. Listen to Emperor's New Clothes HERE
  2. I Put a Spell on You by Jay Hawkins--I remember this song from Hocus Pocus. Plus Bette Midler's performance in the movie was phenomenal. Nina Simone also did a version of I Put a Spell on You, which is just fantastic. Thus, this song as one of my favorites.
  3. Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.--I like the original Ghostbusters movies, and I also like the theme song by Ray Parker Jr. Listen to Ghostbusters HERE
  4. Wicked Moon by Angel Haze--Wicked Moon is a song that definitely fits with October. Its kind of spooky, and the beat is pretty awesome. Listen to Wicked Moon HERE
  5. This is Halloween from The Nightmare Before Christmas--When a song has Halloween in its lyrics, you know that it has to make this list. I also like the version of the song performed by Panic! At the Disco.
