"A natural inclination when it comes to conveying exposition is to tell. After all, the most efficient way we humans have of conveying complex ideas is with language."--Video Game Storytelling by Evan Skolnick
What's on your page 56 this week?
Sounds good! Thanks for sharing and enjoy. And thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of information, but I really enjoyed Video Game Storytelling. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
DeleteThis book sounds like it would be fascinating! There is so much to learn about telling a story through a video game. I know I loved the computer game, Myst, which they also made books about. I'd like to return to it at some point and play it with fresh eyes. Thanks for sharing a book that I normally wouldn't see! -Katie @ Bookish Illuminations
DeleteNo problem, I'm trying to branch out more with books this year and I'm looking to read more nonfiction. As for the book, a lot of what I read about in Video Game Storytelling were things I never knew about, so it was a very interesting read.
DeleteI'm always amazed at how video games are created--the story line, the artwork, the programming. This sounds like a fascinating read.

ReplyDeleteAfter reading Video Game Storytelling I have a new respect for games that have stories that are well done and coherent. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
