Upcoming Music I'm Waiting For Part 2 (2022)

Since its March (already three months into 2022), I thought I would revisit the subject of upcoming music. Some more stuff has been announced, and a couple of the albums I’m very excited for.  

Today is also the 15th of March, which is Our Thoughts Precisely's blogiversary. The blog is officially 9 years old! I never have anything specifically planned for this day, but I thought I would mention it here. Thanks again to all the people who have stopped by, read our posts, and left blog comments. 

Now, onto the list....

 

• Serpentina by Banks (April 8, 2022): Recently, there has been a trickle of singles coming out from Banks. Serpentina has finally been announced, and I like what I’ve heard so far. So I’m very excited to see what’s in store from the follow-up to 2019’s III.

• Back From the Dead by Halestorm (May 6, 2022): It’s been a while since I regularly followed Halestorm’s music, but I’m anticipating their next album, Back From the Dead.
• Explosions by Three Days Grace (May 6, 2022): Three Days Grace was a band I used to listen to when I was younger. I’ve been listening to some of their recent stuff, and I’m excited for this album.
• Palaces by Flume (Mary 20, 2022): I liked Flume’s 2016 album, Skin, so I had to add Palaces to this list.
• Other albums with limited information (TBA; To Be Announced): Saweetie, Rina Sawayama, Kimbra, Cardi B.

That’s it for now. As always, my lists are ever changing. So who knows, maybe there will be part three of "upcoming music I’m waiting for" later in the year. We’ll see.

In Which I forgot About the Blogiversary + Pardon the Construction...

As you can tell by the title of this post, I completely forgot about Our Thoughts Precisely’s blogiversary. What’s ironic is that last year I said I was going to do something different to celebrate March 15th (like a Q&A), and instead, I completely forgot about it until I started going back through the archive to get a scope for how many different graphics I would need to make before updating the look of the blog. Well, it’s April. The 15th of March has long since been over. And instead of a Q&A or some other type of commemorative post, my way of celebrating the blog turning 5 years old is to give it a completely updated appearance. A little backstory…

As I continue to work on my art, I’m paying closer attention to composition. And as the months rolled by, every time I looked at the latest header and disorganized design of the blog graphics, I kept having the same thought: “Wow, this is really unfocused.” Where was the composition? What part of the header did I want the eye to be drawn to? In fact, I didn’t know. And from there, I fell down the rabbit hole of searching every corner of the blog for the cohesiveness I wanted. And I didn’t find it. Last year, I changed the header and some of the graphics, but rather than update my entire arsenal of art, I mixed in the new stuff with images that I made back in the first, second, and third year of running the blog. The result was a mix-mashed collection of random graphics. It certainly wasn’t cohesive, which prompted me to make more changes. I told myself that I was only going to make little updates to make things match. Except, those small changes spiraled into an entirely different look that then required a lot of work and more time to make it into something I was happy with.

So…

The blog is 5 years old and has gone through a lot of changes over the years (the only consistent aspect about it is the name). And over the next 1 to 2 weeks, I’m going to be updating basically all corners of the blog. Some things may take longer than others as I go through the process of phasing out old graphics for the new ones. Somethings won't immediately change, for example the weekly meme graphics, because I'm currently in the process of working on those.

And I think that about covers it for today. Now, I’ve got some work to do....

Our Thoughts Precisely Is Now 4 Years Old

Gosh, I feel like I never have anything planned for this day, but this year, I actually did forget that March 15th is the anniversary of when Andrea and I started Our Thoughts Precisely. This blog is officially 4 years old. 4 years old. Guys, that’s a pretty long time, and it seems like it was just yesterday when we were only posting stuff to goodreads. Since then, Adri has joined us, which reminds me that I need to go around to all the little corners of the blog and update some of the pages. I will probably do that sometime soon. Maybe next year I will finally remember to do something more on March 15th, but I digress. I won’t repeat the entire history of the blog because that would just be needlessly repetitive. However, I just wanted to quickly drop this post here to acknowledge the day, and say a very big thank you to everyone who has stopped by the blog, followed us, left comments, or just read any of our posts. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for sticking around!

Our Thoughts Precisely Is Officially 3 Years Old!

Today is March 15th, and three years ago today, Our Thoughts Precisely was started. Hooray! I don’t really have anything planned for today since I’m busy with other things and reading. But, I just wanted to drop this post here to acknowledge the day. I also want to say thank you to the readers, who've taken the time to stop by the blog.

So, yeah, Our Thoughts Precisely is officially 3 years old. Now, back to reading.

Our Thoughts Precisely is turning 2!

I’m just going to jump right into this. Our Thoughts Precisely started on March 15, 2013 so today officially makes the blog two years old. Hooray! We don’t have anything planned for today except for the new header which should be up some time today, but other than that, yeah, the blog turned two. As for the design of the blog, not everything is changing—some things sooner than others, other designs won’t be changing at all.
