The Friday 56 (37) Scorched by Mari Mancusi

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice where every Friday you pick a book and turn to page 56 or 56%, and select a sentence or a few, as long as it's not a spoiler. For the full rules, visit the the page HERE

Synopsis from Goodreads...

Trinity...
Don’t leave me here... It starts with a whisper. At first Trinity thinks she’s going crazy. It wouldn’t be a big surprise—her grandpa firmly believes there’s a genuine dragon egg in their dusty little West Texas town. But this voice is real, and it’s begging for her protection. Even if no one else can hear it...

Connor...
He’s come from a future scorched by dragonfire. His mission: Find the girl. Destroy the egg. Save the world.

Caleb...
He’s everything his twin brother Connor hates: cocky, undisciplined, and obsessed with saving dragons.

Trinity has no idea which brother to believe. All she has to go by is the voice in her head—a dragon that won’t be tamed...

Scorched (Scorched, #1)"Her confusion veered sharply into anger. How dare he try to play her like this? She needed to get away, call the cops, find out what was really going on."--Scorched by Mari Mancusi

Do you have any favorite novels that feature dragons?

  2. I've been thinking about reading this book since I first saw it a few months ago.
My current favorite books that involve dragons is this series that have human-dragon hybrid creatures called "Morgons." They're written by Juliette Cross. Waking the Dragon is one of the books.

  7. Thanks for featuring Scorched as your Friday 56!! :) My favorite dragon book of all time is the HERO AND THE CROWN by Robin McKinley. It's about this kick ass girl dragon slayer named Aerin who develops a fireproof salve and goes off to hunt this evil huge dragon named Maur. It's beautifully written and so, so cool! I also love Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series.
